DOD Announces Units for Upcoming Afghanistan Deployment

The Department of Defense announced today three units to deploy as part of upcoming rotations of forces operating in
Afghanistan. The announcement involves two brigade combat teams totaling 6,400 personnel and one combat aviation
brigade totaling 2,750 personnel. The scheduled rotation for these forces will begin late summer 2011 and continue
through early 2012.

             Specific units:

             3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas

             37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Ohio Army National Guard

             1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas

DOD Announces Iraq Force Deployment

The Department of Defense announced today the deployment of units as part of an upcoming rotation of forces
supporting Operation New Dawn in Iraq. This rotation involves one division headquarters totaling 775 personnel and
two brigade combat teams totaling 6,400 personnel. The scheduled rotation for the forces begins in mid-summer and
continues through the fall of 2011. In accordance with the security agreement between the United States and Iraq
signed in 2008, all U.S. forces will depart Iraq by Dec. 31, 2011.

           Headquarters unit:
           3rd Infantry Division Headquarters,Fort Stewart, Ga.

           Brigade Combat Teams:
           1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas

           4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas
