  • Determine malfunctions in electronics, electrical and cryogenic assemblies, module and circuit elements
  • Maintain gyroscopes, sights and other electro-optical fire control components
  • Repair and maintain missile mounts, platforms and launch mechanisms

Training
Job training for an Avenger System Repairer requires nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic
Soldiering skills, and 18 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction, including practice in
repairing and replacing equipment parts. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. Some of the
skills you'll learn are:

  • Principles and concepts of electronics and mechanics
  • Use electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment
  • Use schematics, drawings, blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Operate, test and maintain weapons systems

Advanced Responsibilities
Advanced level Avenger System Repairers provide guidance, supervise and train other Soldiers within the same
discipline. As an advanced level Avenger System Repairer, you may be involved in:

  • Perform quality control measures
  • Recommend procedures for receipt, storage, inspection, testing and repair of the Avenger System
  • Provide technical assistance to supported units

Avenger System Repairer's responsibility to keep these weapons operating properly.

As an essential member of the Army's weapons maintenance team, the Avenger System Repairer is primarily
responsible for performing and supervising field and sustainment level maintenance on the Avenger System,
a lightweight, highly mobile and transportable surface to air missile/gun weapon system that provides
short-range air defense protection against air and land attacks.
